Einstein Bros. | Stacked Up
Mornings Feeling Stacked?
The start of the day can feel pretty stacked, but Einstein Bros. Bagels gets it stacked in your favor.
Early Risers
This savory commercial campaign was brought to us by our friends at Recreation Films. The shoot was heavy on scenes and tight on time, so shots and circle takes were deliberate and efficient. Editorial started quickly once the first day of production wrapped, using Lucidlink and Sawtooth's workflows for moving media from set to workstation in near real-time, while waiting for OCF media to arrive by FedEx.
Kicking Off Creative
The trick that fed the entire edit was finding the best performance from the actors across varying takes and scenes. We needed the edits to feel frenetic at times, funny (but not over the top), and eventually resolve to confident delicious bagel sandwiches as the solution to a family's crazy mornings. In many cases the actors would nail their performances together, while others were helped with a little creative compositing for stitching together the best performances from each actor.
Stacked Up Meets Full-Stack
Sawtooth Post managed the post-process soup-to-nuts, or maybe bagels-to-schmear, for the campaign. Editorial started with the :30 before moving to each of the individual :15s. Frame.io was used for reviews with the Recreation Films team and client. Color followed a simplified Prores 4444 roundtrip workflow between Adobe Premiere and DaVicni Resolve that kept the process fast while reducing conform time for complex in-bay compositing and stabilization on certain shots.

Leading into the finishing process, Frame.io was again used for color review and grading, taking full advantage of the platform's side-by-side version comparison. Seeing various options of color, literally side by side, speed up review and creative decisions, even with post happening in Texas and the client sitting in New York.
Hot 'N Ready
All in, this campaign would deliver one 30-second spot and seven unique 15-second spots to air on broadcast and across social, in various aspect ratios and formats, making for a 73-file delivery. That amount of moving parts is standard fare for the Sawtooth team. We pride ourselves on managing the deliverables while keeping the post process smooth for our clients. That's sharp post at its best and if sounds good to you, we should talk.
